Training

Woodcraft Folk offers a range of training opportunities for volunteers to build their knowledge. Much of this is free to access, and is a great chance to take a step back from group sessions, and share ideas and skills.

These sessions will help you to run a successful group, where children can engage, learn and have fun in a safe environment, with confident leaders and helpers.

Woodcraft Folk currently offers a range of online and face to face training opportunities. You can also access resources that will support you to run your own training sessions in your local area. Select one of the options below to access these materials or find a forthcoming event that meets your needs. You can also find additional training information in the Resource Drive (login required).

Woodcraft Folk recommends that all volunteers complete the NYA’s “Basic Introduction to Safeguarding for Volunteer Youth Workers“, and Woodcraft Folk requires that all all Group & District Co-ordinators and Local Safeguarding Leads complete the NYA’s course called “Safeguarding in a Youth Work Setting“.  These short online modules can be accessed for free through the NYA’s Safeguarding Hub
